Can't Find It Here?
If the Port Moody Public Library does not own a book you need, ask at the Information Desk.
Staff may be able to find the book at a neighbouring library for you. You can visit other libraries in person throughout the Lower Mainland to borrow the material you need. When you're done, you can return your borrowed items to any library - a great service, completely free. Find out more about using other Lower Mainland Public Libraries.
Or ask about our Interlibrary Loan service.
How Do I Get An Interlibrary Loan?
Interlibrary loans are made available from one library system to another. Port Moody Public Library will look for the needed book in other Lower Mainland libraries and throughout B.C., as well as across Canada and the United States. To request an Interlibrary Loan you must have a Port Moody Public Library card that is in good standing. You may request an Interlibrary Loan at the Information desk in person or by phone. To request an Interlibrary Loan by e-mail click here.
The search for your material may take up to two months. Most are obtained within one month. Please indicate your deadline.
There may be a cost in certain circumstances. You must indicate the maximum amount you are willing to pay.
We will phone you when your book comes in. You will have four open days to pick up the item, or phone us to arrange a longer holding period.
Interlibrary loans are available for a three week loan period and are non-renewable.
