Teen Book Buddies - Fall 2010

What is Book Buddies?

Book Buddies (old name: Reading Buddies!) is a program where teens are paired up with little buddies in grades two to four. The goals of the program are to encourage little buddies to love books, feel good about reading, and to see reading as a fun activity.

When is Book Buddies?
Once a week, on Saturday afternoons from Oct. 23-Dec.18. Teens and little buddies share books, play literacy games, and learn about the library. The times are either 12:30-2:30 pm or 2:15 to 4:15 pm. Teens gain valuable volunteer hours, and develop a great bond with their buddies.

How can I apply to be a Book Buddy?

Download an application form from the library or pick up one at the library. Then send the application to us by email or drop if off at the information desk. Deadline to apply is September 30th. Teens must be at least 14 years old to participate in the program.

If you have any questions about the program,  please contact the program coordinator, Vicki Donoghue at 604-469-4666 or at 604-469-4577 or by email at vicki.donoghue@cityofportmoody.com.
