Family Play and Learn Event at Coquitlam Centre Mall
Children aged 3 to 10 and their parents are invited to join Tri City librarians at Coquitlam Centre Mall for free Family Play and Learn Nights. Imagine, play and learn through stories, songs arts and more. No registration required, please drop in.

When: The last Wednesday of every month from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Where: Lower level in front of London Drugs & The Toy Jungle. 

These are the themes for 2010:

June 30 - Outdoor Adventures

July 28 - Jungle Fun

August 25 - Dr. Seuss

Tri-Cities Annual Spelling Bee - Winners announced

School District 43 kids in grades 4 and 5 tested their spelling skills during two rounds of competition.

The winners of the first round held January 30, 2010:

David Canales-Zorilla
Launa Hinton
Jee Yu Kim
Lizzie Kim
Kevin Lei
Nicholas Wee

The winners of the final round held February 6, 2010:

1st Place:  Nicholas Wee from Port Coquitlam

2nd Place: Alison Kim from Coquitlam

3rd Place: David Canales-Zorilla from Port Moody

Port Moody's acting mayor, Mike Clay, summed it up best when he said
"Every child here is a winner. Every kid who came out and put forth their best effort is a champion today!"
